RSB OMG!

Tim and me with RSB

Tim and me with RSB

After wondering what it would take to wake up this blog, the answer finally came!

Last night I had the opportunity to meet a hero of mine, and great teacher, Robert Scott Bell .
Robert broadcasts a radio show six days a week. I listen at GCN Live. There are many other ways to catch this show, and I recommend that you do.

As a person who prefers to take responsibility for my own wellness and stay away from the mainstream medical establishment, except for an emergency, it is easy to feel isolated. Listening, and learning from the experts in holistic and non-pharmaceuticly biased thinking is a lifeline that I would never want to be without.
To say that I was excited to meet Robert in person would be the understatement of the century. Those who know me know that I don’t follow celebrity, and there are very few whom I really respect. I’m very picky. The RSB show is the place where I know I can trust the integrity of the guests, and I know, for sure, that Robert is a from-the-heart healer.

Experiments in Oil Pulling

January 20, 2015

Last year I was introduced to oil pulling…..Have you heard of it?
The procedure is easy…take a teaspoon of coconut oil (my favorite), and swish it around in your mouth for 20 min. Do it first thing in the morning, before having anything to eat..even water…
After 20 min. spit out the oil and brush teeth, gums, tongue, and everything on the inside of your mouth. Easy!

Then, if you like, mix a batch of coconut oil with salt and spread it over your teeth and gums. Tastes great!

I like coconut oil because of it’s antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Please don’t use Canola or Vegetable oil, or any oil that is genetically modified or hydrogenated.

I learned about oil pulling here

http://www.oilpulling.com/

and from one of my favorite bloggers here

I feel in a very good mood when I’m done. Interesting.

What about you? Have you tried it? If you would like to try, would you like to comment on it here?

Fudge

October 27, 2013
This is Fudge

This is Fudge

So, you might be asking, what else does someone do to overcome and heal canser?
You guessed it!
Ride!

Meet Fudge πŸ™‚ a 21 year old warm blood mare (the boss mare of everybody). She has the biggest feet and widest girth of any horse I’ve ridden, and is a sweetie. In the picture posted here, her head is down…When her head is up I cannot reach her ears.

Riding is something I’ve always wanted to do, and about a year ago I finally realized that there was nothing to lose and everything to gain by learning.
Riding, and especially having relationships with these large animals is one of the best things I have ever done, and I recommend it for challenging fear, boundary setting, and just overall loving.

Horses are beautiful, soulful, willful, and honest. They can see what lots that people cannot, and really don’t hesitate to tell you about it.

If you find yourself intrigued, why not try it yourself?

Heilkunst, Homeopathy and Healing

October 7, 2013

Let me begin by saying that I am a very basic beginner in the study of homeopathy, so please please please read lots and lots for yourself. It is a complex and interesting system. Perhaps you might begin here

Here’s what happens. We are conceived, we are born, life happens…. lots and lots of life…illnesses, joys, tragedy, triumphs, broken bones, chemical exposures, bad food and other various forms of trauma…you know…think of all the events of your life.

All these events and substances can cause us to be out of balance on physical, emotional and spiritual levels. Homeopathy addresses these imbalances and restores health.

I’m beginning my exploration of this process by first writing a timeline of all the events of my life. Then a homeopathic remedy is made to address these events starting at the present and moving back in time. It is like peeling an onion.

Since this blog is about healing from cancer, let’s talk about that.
Cancer does not all of a sudden just pop up out of nowhere, and is never about just one thing. Cutting, burning and poisoning it does nothing to change the conditions that allowed it in the first place.
There are many levels, over time, that can produce cancer. Emotional upsets, environmental toxins, bad food… just to name a few.
It makes all kinds of sense to me to begin clearing the decks of all this clutter. Think of cleaning a floor…..The first thing to do is clear the floor of everything cluttering it before scrubbing.

I’ve been working on this project since January with some very interesting results. Homeopathy, it seems, is very powerful medicine, though it has been discredited since the publication of the Flexner Report of 1910, and the takeover of medicine by pharmaceutical companies. You can read a bit about it here

As always, do your own research and make your own decisions about how to treat your bodymindspirit.
I am very impressed with this process.

How about you? What are your experiences? Want to try it?

Of My 6 year CanServersary and Heart’s Delight

First of all…. YAY!!!!! 6 years! Take that damn cancer!

And….as goes my heart’s delight….This past week a long desired dream is come true. My passion for 16th century sacred music was sparked by a short work by Victoria on the text O Vos Omnes. I was in love and could not get enough. vowed to sing this lovely work someday. That day has come. sigh…this couple of months I’ve had the chance to learn and then, this week sing what has been my passion.
I’ve gone to Youtube to try to find a video. There are many to choose from…here is one.
Enjoy!

Seems that I’ve got a bit of a virtual blog going here…..I’m always thinking of posts to write and not doing it! Unhappily, that strategy does not do much good for you, my loyal reader.

Here is something that I’ve been meaning to post for some time now. I’m sure it takes no time at all to learn that I love to sing. It is just about the best time in the world. Last spring I sang with a lovely group of Oberlin College students. Here is a video of part of our performance.

I hope you enjoy it πŸ™‚

You can see me standing just to the left of the harp…. look for the white hair πŸ™‚

New Blogs to Love

April 22, 2012

In my travels among blogs, I’ve come across some that are so good that I really want you all to read them too πŸ™‚

I recommend that you read Helena’s Healing Circle. Click the link on the right side of this page, or here

Next is Mum’s Not Having Chemo . Read it here

Gerson and Me is written by a woman doing Gerson therapy. Gerson Therapy is very intensive so how she finds time to write a blog is amazing πŸ™‚
Read it here

Finally, and these are in no order of excellence, is Debbie Young’s blog Grassfed Momma. Debbie’s journey healing from CLL has taken her from raw foods to grass fed food! You will love her! check it out here
I’m intending to leave Debbie’s first blog, debbie does raw in the links on the right side of my front page. Raw foods heal, and many benefit. Debbie is smart enough, and flexible enough to change her thinking and do what her body tells her to do.

I hope you enjoy! Be sure to read the past postings of these wonderful bloggers.

Oh Blinding Light….

Do you know that song? I’ve digressed already….sigh

So, I’m sitting in the Opthomologist chair yesterday having my once every three-year eye exams. I love the test…. let’s see how well I can read the small print!
I know that there have been some vision changes…I like bright light to read or knit, and have to grab the magnifying glass for really small print…Otherwise I don’t have any problems…

The verdict.

Perfect! 20/20…gorgeous macula…beautiful retina…great blood vessels…perfect optic nerve…no cancer…no diabetes…and the lens of my eye still has plenty of flex.

And, the slight astigmatism I have serves to make me a bit more nearsighted…so I don’t have to hold print so far away πŸ™‚

I do take care of my eyes. No eye makeup or creams that sting, lots of bright sunlight every chance I get. I’ll only use sunglasses if driving distances on bright days, or when around water so I don’t squint too much…I think my attention to diet and supplements helps a lot too…

Anyway, I love good news and thought you might too.

I’m wondering if my scores might even improve over time… of course, the doc is a regular conventional guy who would most likely say that diet and supplements and specific eye exercises could not improve eyesight. I think there is a chance that they can.

I especially like Astaxanthin. Has anyone else used it? What do you think? I’ve also taken breaks from computer screens…the longest one lately when I was sick back in November and December…my eyes really appreciated the break…I think I’ll do that again fairly often.

Winter Solstice – Bungie Cord Edition

Here’s what happened…..(I’m watching Monk reruns. All credit goes to the writers)

September hit and life got really busy. I found myself in three choruses and auditing a history class. This on top of trying to keep up and run the house etc…

Life was going pretty well except that I was pretty tired and found myself in a chorus that I was not enjoying and found the experience to be pretty stressful. I cannot believe that I said the words stressful and chorus in the same sentence…a clear indicator that something was wrong somewhere. I pushed myself through it…I don’t like to quit things.

A couple of weeks after the concert, and a weekend trip out of town, I came down with a fever. a high fever. We’re talking 103-104. Burned for days… 2 weeks actually. I’m not afraid of high fever. The heat burns out the bad bugs. My biggest mistake was staying in bed so much… I got pneumonia. pretty bad.

It became clear that I needed to see a doctor…I ended up in the emergency room, and in the hospital for a week. Great doctors, great staff…though they beat up my only arm really bad. Finally my veins gave out and they decided not to continue IV antibiotics, and sent me home.

I’m home a couple of weeks now…pretty tired and with frozen shoulders. I was looking at a meridian chart the other day. The lung meridian runs right across the top of the shoulders and down the arms. perhaps not a big surprise that my arms are not working right now.
Of course, the hospital staff kept sticking me with needles and have you ever spent any time in a hospital bed? with those rubber pillows? omg.

Anyway… My lungs are clearing, I’m getting some energy back though I’m pretty tired, and here I am a solstice and Christmas with empty hands… no gifts, no decorating… nothing… not even much of a schedule besides lots of bodywork to try to get my arms back…

Thank God the solstice is here. The days will get longer now, and spring is going to be here soon. Time to sweep the corners of life and clear out the dust some more. I’ve been doing it all year… swept out some pretty ugly stuff…Solstice helps me reflect on how much work I’ve done and remind me to keep going with fresh spirit.
