FOOD

Ok, big subject… here are the broad strokes…I got a juicer and started juicing veggies… a lot of veggies… all green at this point, though I had started with beets and carrots.  Now I find them too sweet. I use a Green Star Juicer.  Twin gear juicers are the best juicer in this price range, and it juices wheatgrass.  Look at the right side of the page to the SproutPeople link.  I still think they have the best price for this juicer. (ha! I wish they paid me for all the business I try to send them :)) I digress…

I usually juice cucumbers, celery, chard, spinach, kale, dandelion.  Spice it up with mustard greens, ginger, garlic, radish if you want.  I went a little overboard on the mustard greens one day… whoa! If you want a little sweet add a granny smith apple. Don’t mix other fruits with your veggies.

Grow a little wheatgrass (sproutpeople again :)) and juice it…. pretty strong taste…really good for you.

Eat Organic,  non GMO, and not processed. I love olive oil, hemp oil, coconut oil, hemp seeds

Avoid corn, dairy, red meat, anything not organic, anything deep fried, canola, soy, high fructose corn syrup, any sugar, artificial sweeteners, vegetable oils, hydrogenated , hydrolyzed or any other form of the word… just don’t eat it.  Please read labels.

Glad to hear you are not only hanging in there but thriving! I am just one more voice to tell you you are not crazy. I had read many years ago of successful battles against cancer that allowed the body’s own infection fighting powers to do the job–by purification of toxins, eating only live foods. And I also used to grow my own sprouts and grind my own wheatgrass. In San Francisco health food stores, they sold it (fresh daily). If I were smarter I would be doing it again. I also found interesting your distaste for the Race for the Cure idea. Should be Race for the Cause.

Hi Liz, I found your blog because of the awesome scarf pattern you posted. I’m sending you random love and support from afar. I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine and have helped a number of people dealing with cancer. I hope you find good support from the community around you – where ever you might be. Good food – Good air – Good people – Good belly-laughs… Good medicine 🙂
