More Music News and a Trip to Ohio…

Life has been pretty busy these days and I think it about time to fill you in…

There has been more music fun the reciently…Last weekend I attended a Gregorian Chant workshop at a local Catholic church…I love ancient music…have a really soft spot in my heart for it…There were about 90 participants from all over the country and we were taught by a very accomplished director. We gathered on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday, finishing by singing a high mass in the extraordinary form on Saturday evening.  It was a wonderful experience singing, and learning how to read the notation and interpret the music…It is very subtle.  I’m loving having interesting music activities!

Tim and I are heading to Oberlin, Ohio this week…We will leave directly from chorus rehearsal this Tuesday evening…I’ll drive about an hour and we’ll finish the trip the next day…There are a few houses to look at…

For those trying to keep score on the houses…The one we thought we would go for, on Elm Street, ended up having water issues…bad ones…standing water in the basement and warped floors…sigh…no deal!  Now we are going to look at an interesting, though run down and ugly house on Forest Street…It is a short sale, so, If we like it, it could take a little while for the deal to be accepted.  The house needs to be fixed…We think this is the one we are most interested in…there are a couple of others to also look at…I’ll bring the laptop and update the blog if I can…There is a coffee shop in town with free wifi…I’ll try to get in a few words…stay tuned…

I don’t know much about Gregorian chant but we have been chanting in my yoga training and I am loving it! Did you know that chanting and humming release edorphines due to the vibration of some spongy part of the brain? Pretty cool huh?

Yeah! There is more to ohmmmm than just making a cool noise and having your friends think you are a little strange 🙂 Could be that any kind of singing does that…
It is so cool that you are teaching yoga 🙂
