The Healthy Life Plan – Heavy Metals Detox – Part 2

May 29, 2008

Ready for another round? I found the copy of the report of the challenge test I took last June. I took DMSA to provoke the metals out. DMSA is one of three provoking agents. It does not get all the metals. For example, it does not get Aluminum…I had some frequency testing done that showed very high levels of Aluminium. If the levels had not shown so high, I might have doubted the result…they were off the chart. I’m not sure what other metals I may have that did not show on this test.

On the last test, the winners were…Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Thallium, and Uranium. Uranium ?! For Pete’s sake! So let’s see where this stuff may have come from.

Arsenic can be found in cigarette smoke, laundry detergent, colored chalk, and is used in the processing of chicken. It is, or at least used to be used in pressure treated wood. So..if you are eating out of a veggie patch that is surrounded by pressure treated wood, you may want to use another material for the border. And caution…although arsenic is not used anymore…other things are in pressure treated wood. Arsenic can cause headaches and mental confusion.

Cadmium is found in soft drinks and fabric softeners

Lead is found in old paint, leaded gas (which is, of course not for sale anymore, but the residues are still around, and I’m old enough to have been exposed to lots of lead in gas), canned food, plastics, soder on pipes, newspapers and pottery. It gets into your brain, liver, spleen and kidney. The impact lead has on IQ is pretty well documented. Not good for the brain!

Nickel – Now here is a surprise…you can get nickel from stainless steel cutlery and pots and pans. It rubs off with each use. Where is the Sterling?! It gets into your bones, kidney, sinus, brain. It can show up as a skin condition that will not go away no matter what you do.

Aluminum is ingested from pots and pans and foils, toothpaste, baby formula, and from municipal water systems. Aluminum is used to get sand and grit to fall out of solution in the public water supply. Trouble is, then we get to drink it, and it can cause trouble in our blood stream. This turns into strokes and heart attatcks. Other problems that may be because of aluminum are dementia and aphasia.

I don’t know the first thing about Thalluim! Just that I want it GONE!

Uranium…a mystery to me! I know that it is in the ground water in some areas. I took a walk one day near a nuclear power plant…Was I out playing one day when some fallout came floating by? Who knows!

Remember from the last post that these undesirable metals look like desirable nutrients to your body? Well, Aluminum, Nickel, and Uranium look like Magnesium. Cadmium looks like Zink. Lead looks like Calcium. Tricky little guys!

I think I’ll end this post here….next time I have something to say about Calcium, and then how to get these pesky metals out of the body.
