The Healthy Life Plan – Water

April 3, 2008

drop of water with ripplesClean water that is! Please don’t drink the tap water! Get some kind of a filter. Have you seen the news lately about pharmaceutical drugs in the drinking water? I think that is the least of it. There are so many chemicals in the environment…kinda scares me. I attended a lecture last night given by someone from the Environmental Working Group. They did blood work on 10 random persons to see how many chemicals they had been exposed to. The number was 200 something! A lot of the chemicals were things which have been banned for 30 years. Yes, they are still around… The really alarming news was that the 10 individuals chosen for the sample were fetuses. The chemical burden on us all is huge. There is only so much poison a body can take before it can’t function anymore.

Water is a pretty dirty thing…Here in Arlington we have DC water. I’m don’t know if it was national news, but it sure was big local news about the lead and stuff in our water. Tim and I have always used filtered water to drink. Last spring we got a really good water filter. I use the water for all cooking and washing veggies. It didn’t take long for the filters to become clogged. The filters we use are supposed to last about 3000 gallons… We removed and cleaned them last week…gross! I should have taken pictures! We cleaned them up and re-installed them and they are working great now. There was a brown sludge on the filters. I know it will build up again…I’ll take pictures next time!

Water is so important to the body. All of the cells in our bodies need it, and your liver, which has to filter out all the poisons and parasites will be happier. Do your body a big favor and drink lots of clean water! I’m sure I’ll have more to say about water soon!

I couldn’t agree more. We also filter our water. That must of been a great lecture.
