funny music

May 11, 2007

Today Tim and I went to the Kennedy Center to see Peter Schickele do PDQ Bach. It is a spoof on music. Very funny. I’ve never seen him live. Just recordings and books. I have a book which I had to buy because I had stood in the bookstore laughing so hard that the tears were running down my face and it was hard to breath. That was sometime in the early 80’s

This concert featured the Washington Choral Arts Society (in bathrobes and rollers)singing the seasonings S.1 1/2 tsp.

Another funny thing happened when they attempted to replay a movement, faster…. There were sirens, red flashing lights, and a cop came out, took the license plate of the piano and issued a ticket after asking “do you know how fast you were going?”

And, of course, the chorus stood and sat with a great deal of noise.

I highly recommend such lunacy to all!

Laughed hard and had a great time
